Vision To produce a blend of creativity & ethical engineering graduates and making them capable of facing the real life challenges.
Mission The mission elements of Information Technology Department are:
M-1. Inculcating the fundamentals of Information Technology and analyzing the engineering problems along with the development of solutions keeping environmental aspects.
M-2. To cultivate ability for modern tool usage on ethical grounds to widely solve real life issues.
M-3. Building team spirit within the students, creating effecting communication for lifelong learning.

About the Department

As it pertains to technology, IT spans a wide variety of areas that include but are not limited to things such as processes,computer software, computer hardware, programming languages, and data constructs. In short, anything that renders data,information or perceived knowledge in any visual format whatsoever, via any multimedia distribution mechanism, is considered part of the domain space known as Information Technology (IT).
IT professionals perform a variety of functions (IT Disciplines/Competencies) that range from installing applications to designing complex computer networks and information databases. A few of the duties that IT professionals perform may include data management, networking, engineering computer hardware, database and software design, as well as management and administration of entire systems. Information technology is starting to spread farther than the conventional personal computer and network technology, and more into integrations of other technologies such as the use of cell phones, televisions, automobiles, and more, which is increasing the demand for such jobs.
The department was started in the year 2000 with an intake of 60 students. The department offers B.Tech program in the area of IT .The department of information technology is committed to impart up-to-date knowledge to the students related to current and future technology. Besides theoretical knowledge the main focus is to give the student more practical knowledge. The department is housed in a newly built building having an area of 1749 sq. mtrs. The department has well equipped and air conditioned laboratories each with a capacity of 22 computer machines. The faculty members give the students hands on approach in the use of IT principles and the opportunity to develop creative approaches to solving the problems.

Laboratories

Software System Lab
This lab provides facilities for the students to understand the complete life cycle of software development. Here the students learn different languages like C, C++, Visual Basic, Java, .net etc.

R&D Project Laboratory
Here the students develop & design their projects using variety of languages and software packages. Various Microcontroller kits are also available for student projects.

Mobile Communication Lab
CDMA, Bluetooth, and Wireless LAN Kits are available in this lab to study about the mobile devices. Mobile trainer, satellite communication trainer are also available for performing practicals.

Network Lab
In this lab exposure is given to the students about network equipment like Router, Switches, LAN trainer, wireless access points etc. Besides these the students are taught about the servers and their installation.
